1. Take everything out: clean plastic trays go with plastic, clean styrofoam with styrofoam, foam fruit nets and ice packs in a general waste bag.
2. Remove tape, ribbons, staples and plastic windows from the box.
3. Flatten it and put it with paper.
4. Shiny plastic-coated parts you cannot tear off: general waste bag.

The national guideline excludes plastic-coated parts, tape and staples from paper boxes. Holiday gift sets (Chuseok, Seollal, Christmas) often mix several materials — sort each one.
