Recycling in Korea 분리배출

Short answer: recycling is free — empty it, rinse it, remove other materials and sort it by type (paper, cartons, cans, glass, clear PET, plastic, vinyl, styrofoam), then put it out in clear bags on your area’s recycling day.

Recycling — 분리배출 (bulli baechul) — is free, but it must be sorted by material and clean. Four rules cover most of it: empty it, rinse it, remove other materials, sort it.
